Judson Guerard Large Chaos Fused Art Glass Sculptured Hand Blown Vase Modern Contemporary. Signed. Stunning contemporary hand blown art glass vase or vessel by North Carolina based artist Judson Guerard. Etched signature on the bottom. From the Chaos series. Per the artist, "As a material, hot glass focuses and sustains my interest in the immediate task of doing, making, while hinting and sometimes pointing in a direction away from the particular task. It suggests a melding of hand and mind into a symbiotic process of doing and becoming blown glass art, in which each sustains or rejuvenates the other to continue the process." Dimensions: 8.5"w x 4.5"d x 16.75"h. Weight 12 lbs. In excellent condition. Judson Guerard was born in North Carolina. He has two degrees in philosophy, one from UNC-Chapel Hill, and the other from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. After becoming interested in glass in Denver, he furthered his studies at Penland School of Crafts by studying first with Finn Lyngaard & Tchai Munch, and then Paul Marioni, Richard Ritter, Jane Bruce, Will Dexter, Tom Buechner, Hugh Jenkins, and especially Bill and Sally Worcester. Some of Judson?s work is inspired by the tranquility and enduring beauty of the North Toe River where his studio and home are located.
