Punchbowl, Rose Canton, Chinese 19th century, enameled decoration inside and outside, sections of flowers, birds and butterflies, the vine decorated areas dividing the panels have flying bats, which the Chinese consider a symbol of extremely good luck; all around a central gold circle enclosing a bird and peony tree, the tree peonies considered the rose of China.
