MID CENTURY JEAN REDDAWAY (1923-2018) INK & WATERCOLOR
Description
Jean Reddaway Ink & Watercolor, Khartoum Beach, Signed and dated 1968. In frame measures 27 1/2"x19 1/2"x1". Weight 5 lbs. Jean Reddaway Brett studied at the Slade School of Art, 1940-44 and after qualification taught art at Impington Village School, Cambridge, 1944. She has exhibited work at the RA, and had solo shows in Beirut, Khartoum and in Poland. Her husband was British Ambassador to Poland, 1974-78 and travelling with him, she painted many Polish scenes. In 1979 Reddaway was awarded an OBE for services to Anglo-Polish relations. In that same year she held a solo exhibition of Polish paintings at the Polish Culture Institute, London.
