Arthur W. Moore (British/American, 1840 – 1913) Large Oil Painting Old Mill. In gilt wood frame measures 33"x39"x1" Weight 8 lbs. **In house shipping available on this lot** Born in Nottingham, England. Educated in the Parker and Nottingham Art schools. He settled in Rochester New York in 1881. In Rochester, he worked as a journalist. He joined the art club in 1889, and was appointed secretary in 1894 and remained secretary until his death in 1913. An enthusiastic supporter of the arts, Mr. Moore was instrumental in developing support for the art club and for the construction of a permanent art gallery in Rochester.
