Samuel Ravenel Gaillard Large Lowcountry Lithograph Framed. In frame measures 15"x17"x1/2". Weight 3 lbs. Samuel Ravenel Gaillard (1916-1999) was a Lowcountry artist known for his depictions of life in pre-World War II South Carolina. Mr. Gaillard was born in Columbia, a son of Eugene M. Gaillard and Rosa May Steele Gaillard. He was a retired designer and colorist for Armstrong World Industries Inc. in Lancaster, Pa. He was the owner and operator of Gaillard Originals and his series of paintings called "Lowcountry Scenes, " which chronicles life in pre-World War II South, has received international acclaim. Mr. Gaillard studied at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and the Philadelphia Museum of Arts. He was a member of the Carolina Art Association, Summerville Artist Guild, S.C. Historical Society, Huguenot Society of South Carolina, The Preservation Society of Charleston and the South Carolinian Society of the University of South Carolina. **In house shipping available on this lot**
