Charleston, William Carrington Coin Silver Crumber. South Carolina, late 19th century, ornate chased, scroll, and floral decoration. Measures 12.75". Approximate Silver weight 186 grams. William Carrington & Co. was formed in 1835. In 1872, Carrington partnered with Stephen Thomas and continued on as the jewelry firm of Carrington, Thomas & Co. which remained in business to 1920 on King Street in Charleston. PROVENANCE: The Perrin family, of French Huguenot origin, of Abbeville, Perrin Plantation and Cotton Level Plantation.
