Description
Large Antique Charleston SC Sterling Silver Ladle from William Carrington. Monogram. Measure 13.5" long x 4.25" (ladle). Approximate Silver Weight 270 grams. William Carrington & Co. was formed in 1835. In 1872, Carrington partnered with Stephen Thomas and continued on as the jewelry firm of Carrington, Thomas & Co. which remained in business to 1920 on King Street in Charleston. PROVENANCE: The Perrin family, of French Huguenot origin, of Abbeville, Perrin Plantation and Cotton Level Plantation.
