Weight 4 lbs 4 oz.Drayton Hall is an 18th-century plantation house located near Charleston, SC . It is an example of Palladian architecture and the only plantation house on the Ashley River to survive intact through the Revolutionary and Civil Wars. It is a National Historic Landmark. PROVENANCE: The estate of noted Charleston Attorney, Scholar and Passionate Collector, James Kirkland Grant. Wentworth Street, Charleston SC. Mr. Grant served on the arbitration panels of AAA, FINRA, New York Stock Exchange, NASDAQ and was appointed as special master by federal and state courts. He was a visiting scholar at Columbia University Law School and Harvard, a revered professor at the University of South Carolina Law School and Dean at the University of Delaware Law School. He served as the Chairman of the Board of C4, the Charleston coalition for eliminating cruise ships from docking downtown, showcasing his dedication to creating positive change in the community. Kirk was also the founding Faculty Advisor for the Alliance for Equality at the Charleston School of Law, passionately championing inclusivity and equality in the legal profession. Recognized for his achievements, Kirk was a member of esteemed organizations such as the American Law Institute Inns of Court and the James L. Petigru Inn of Court.
