Description
French Cartonnage Antique Book, A. Dubois de Thainville "Etudes et plaisirs" (Studies and Pleasures). Published circa mid 1800s by P.C. Lehuby in Paris, France. This books cover is a masterpiece of French Cartonnage Style. Adorned with intricate gold, green, red and blue decorations. The edges of the book are gold gilded. Inside are fantastic colored illustrations and typography characteristic of the period. A very valuable addition to any antique book collection. Measures 5" x 8" x 1", weighs 12 oz.
Condition: fair, some foxing and wear to cover/spine due to age and material
