Description
Barbara Frith (1925–2007) Egg Tempura and Oil on Masonite "Brenda" from her Nude Series II painted in 1971. Gilt wood frame. 12"x12"x2". Weight 2 lbs 2 oz. Barbara Frith began her art studies at the Colorado Women’s College and then at the Cleveland Institute of Art. She eventually continued her graduate studies at Denver University where she met her husband, ceramic artist Donald Frith. The two eventually moved to Santa Maria, California after retirement, where they were both active in the local art scene. She is known for her expressionistic style, frequently painting landscapes and scenes of California. Barbara continued to create handmade prints and watercolors and received much recognition as an artist until the end of her life. Ref: San Luis Obispo Museum of Art.
