Description
Vintage 1960s Naive Folk Art Painting on Masonite by English Artist Ernie Turner (died 1977) of the Fire Department of Wivenhoe battling a blaze on High Street. Ernie Turner started painting in 1964 when he retired from his job as a shipwright in Wivenhoe. He captured much of the Wivenhoe of the ’60s and ’70s in his charming colourful naive style. He has been dubbed Wivenhoe’s Alfred Wallis. In frame measures 28"x22"x1.5". Weight 6lbs 8 oz.
