Description
28 Piece Charles Field Haviland Dinner Service, Limoges France. Includes 6 Dinner Plates 10", 6 Bread & Butter Plates 6.25, 6 Salad Plates 7.5", 5 Saucers 5.5", 5 Cups 3.75" wide.. Weight on all 12 lbs 12 oz. Charles Field Haviland left America for Limoges in the early 1850s to work originally for his uncle, David Haviland founder of Haviland and Company and rented a porcelain factory in partnership with his father and brother. Subsequently he opened his own decorating studio for porcelain to export items to the US and in 1868 purchased a porcelain manufacturing company.
