Antique F. H. Cowden, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania Stoneware 3 Gallon Crock with lid and Cobalt decoration. This is the mark of John Wallace Cowden who ran the company with this stamp from 1880-1888 (For more on this pottery, see Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 55-58). Measures 12"x12"x9". Weight 14 lbs 10 oz. Thin hairline, cjhip to rim, bruise. PROVENANCE: A Private Collection of a New England Noted Americana Collector and Dealer.
