Antique Late 19th, early 20th c William and Mary Style Burr Walnut Desk made by Howard & Sons, London. Locks marked London, England. Rectangular chamfered-corner top; center drawer flanked by two short drawers each side; octagonal tapering legs joined by shaped X-stretcher bases on ball feet. Tooled leather top in need of replacing.Measures 48"x29"x30" Established in 1820 by John Howard, going on to become Howard & Sons and trading from multiple addresses in central London, the firm is best known for it?s exceptional quality upholstered furniture but also excelled in upholstery, cabinet making and wall and floor coverings.
