Description
A Monumental Black Forest Carved Walnut Coo-Coo Clock, late 19th/early 20th c. The case is heavily ornamented with carved figural game of a hare and pheasant and hound amidst scrolling oak leaves, branches and acorns together with various hunting accoutrements including slung rifles, a horn and pouch. The whole below a majestic horned mountain goat (alpine ibex). With key. Runs when wound and Coo-Coo works. A nearly identical example is illustrated in the 1910 catalog for Peter Trauffer of Luzern and St. Moritz. #1383.
