Hard to find pair of Vintage A. Santini Bookends on marble after Michelangelo’s Day and Night. From the Originals Mounted on the Sarcophagi of the Tomb of the Medici’s. Night is Shown with Her Owl and Mask. Each 5 1/2"x2’x6". Weight combined 3 lbs. **In house shipping available on this lot** Amilcare Santini was instrumental in developing the process of combining marble, alabaster and resin. This material is then poured into molds made by Santini, after it hardens sitting at room temperature, the figure is taken out and finished by hand. Amilcare Santini passed away in 1975 and now his son Nedo and grandson Alberto Santini are the third generation of the Santini family carrying on the tradition of producing these composite figures. **In house shipping available on this lot**
