Antique c. 1900 Bronze Kumkum Holder with Six Compartments. Measures 5 1/2"x5 1/2"x3". Weight 1 lb 2 oz. Kumkum is a red powder also known as vermilion, used in Hindu rituals and ceremonies. Made from a mixture of tumeric and lime, often used as a mark on the forehead, a symbol of sacredness and tradition.
